Beacon-like tree sculptures mark the ship trail through Panama Canal. The trees reflect Panama’s tropical rainforest landscape, and they make aware of crossing through land between the two oceans. Tree sculptures combine technique and nature, the light ETFE-structures reflect, shine, light up at night and serve as projection surface for information and images. Each of them stands proudly for independency, while together they form a richly diverse group. 200 bigger and smaller trees along the 84.1 km long canal (1 tree every 408 meters) symbolise 200 years of American independence movement.
